The 6th Productivity and Technology Fair, which aims to showcase technological products that contribute to increasing productivity in Turkey, opened its doors at ATO Congresium.
Organised with the theme of "Technologies for the Future", Türksat's stand, which was set up on an area of 40 square metres, attracted great interest.
The opening ceremony of the fair was attended by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, President of Defence Industry Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Türksat General Manager Hasan Hüseyin Ertok and Türksat Deputy General Manager Ömer Faruk Çöllüoğlu.
Delivering the opening speech of the organisation, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that they will carry the Turkish Century to even greater heights with sustainable national technologies, and said: "In line with these targets, our R&D expenditures have increased from 1.2 billion dollars to 12 billion dollars annually in 21 years. The share of our national income allocated to R&D increased from 0.49 per cent to 1.32 per cent. Yılmaz said that they aim to increase the ratio of R&D expenditures to national income to 2 per cent in order to strengthen their position in global competition and that they want to move Turkey to the top 20 in the Global Innovation Index.
Until 10 February, Türksat will keep its booth open to visitors at the fair.
