To mark the third year of the coup attempt of July 15th a commemoration ceremony was organized at Türksat for the martyrs.

Transport and Infrastructure Deputy Minister Ömer Fatih Sayan, Türksat Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Kemal Yüksek, Türksat CEO Cenk Şen, Gölbaşı Mayor Ramazan Şimşek, district representatives, family members of the martyrs and Türksat employees, attended the program.

Transport and Infrastructure Deputy Minister Ömer Fatih Sayan noted that July 15th was a day where a nation was reborn, he added:

They wanted to ruin our country and our lives with the treacherous coup attempt of July 15th. Türksat martyrs Karslı and Ahmet Özsoy paid the price with their lives. We will pay our debts to our friends by contributing to the growth of our nation and by protecting it. We commemorate our fallen martyrs and offer our gratitude to our veterans. Without a doubt, our martyrs will always have a place in our hearts.

Türksat Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Kemal Yüksek said the following:

As a nation, we lost both lives and blood that night. However, similar to the way our people protected our homeland, we as Türksat employees protected Türksat. That night, which started in complete darkness, was illuminated with the determination of our President and the cherished people of this nation. It is called the Day of Democracy and National Unity, as a symbol of our nation’s unity. All of our personnel that were there that night helped us wake up to a clear morning. The sacrifice that they showed is greatly appreciated.

Türksat CEO Cenk Şen added, “In order to match the people’s determination of this nation, it is our duty to remember the struggle our martyrs, veterans and employees displayed against the terrorist on that dark night by making it the basis of our corporate culture and by passing on the same passion to our future generation.”

After the speeches, Minster Turhan and his entourage paid a visit to the area where photographs of the 15 July 2016 attack on Türksat were displayed.

At the end of the ceremony, Minister Turhan was presented a miniature monument to commemorate July 15th Day of Democracy and National Unity.
