A delegation led by Türksat CEO Ahmet Hamdi Atalay conducted a series of official visits in Damascus with the aim of contributing to satellite communications, disaster communication systems, and the digital transformation of public services in Syria.

Accompanying CEO Ahmet Hamdi Atalay were Türksat Deputy General Manager of Satellite Services Dr. Selman Demirel, Deputy General Manager Responsible for e-Government Services Orhan Koca, Business Development and Sales Director Ömer Şamil Açba, and Broadcasting and Services Business Development and Sales Manager Akif Yüksel.

During the visit, the delegation held separate meetings with Syria’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdusselam Haykal, Minister of Information Hamza Moustafa, and Deputy Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Hussam Hallak. In the meetings, Türksat representatives provided comprehensive information on the company’s expertise, particularly in satellite communication solutions, teleport infrastructure, and the system architecture of the e-Government Gateway.

Topics discussed included improving communication infrastructure in rural regions of Syria, television broadcasting and data transmission, ensuring sustainable communication in the event of disasters, and developing e-Government applications. The parties reached a mutual understanding to maintain technical-level contact going forward in order to implement cooperation areas through concrete projects.
