Türksat A.Ş. General Manager Hasan Hüseyin Ertok made statements about the Model Satellite Competition and Türksat 6A to Anadolu Agency correspondent at the Türksat stand at Teknofest, which was held for the 6th time this year.

Stating that they held the Model Satellite Competition for the 8th time this year, Ertok said, "We carried out our final flights 2 days ago in Salt Lake in Aksaray. 114 teams participated in this year's competition. In the final stage, we carried out the flights of 15 university teams. It was a successful competition. There is an increasing interest every year. An increasing number of teams from abroad also apply every year. This year, a team from Indonesia also participated in the final stage."

Ertok stated that by setting up a booth in the fair area of TEKNOFEST, they tried to explain to children what stage satellite and space technologies have reached and what Türksat and Türksat Informatics are doing.

Ertok stated that they want to light a light for children by showing them where Turkey has come in the field of technology and where it is moving towards, and said the following:

"We want to shine a light so that they will work harder in this field, our engineers will be trained more and we will lead the world in the field of technology. This is basically the purpose of the National Technology Move. As Türksat, we are trying to realise this as much as we can.

6A is Turkey's most important R&D project

General Manager Ertok stated that the test phases of the Turksat 6A satellite are continuing, and said: "Flight model tests are being carried out. A significant number of engineers are working on this project. We aim to launch our satellite early next year."

"We put our 5B satellite into service last year. 5A and 5B are the newest and most powerful satellites of our satellite fleet. The test phases of the Türksat 6A satellite, which is a very important project, continue. Flight model tests are being carried out. Hopefully, we expect the tests to be completed and the satellite to be delivered to us by the end of this year. The 6A satellite is a domestic production and Turkey's most important R&D project. A significant number of engineers are working on this project. We aim to launch our satellite early next year. We will continue our efforts to rejuvenate our satellite fleet."
