Türksat A.Ş. participated in CABSAT 2025, the Middle East’s largest broadcasting exhibition, held in Dubai from May 13–15, 2025, and signed several significant international cooperation agreements. Within the scope of the event, Türksat achieved its first export of services via Türksat 6A, Türkiye’s first fully domestic and national communications satellite. Under the signed contract, Türksat sold capacity from the Western and South Asian coverage areas of Türksat 6A. With this sale, Türksat began providing services to countries such as India, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia for the first time.
During the CABSAT 2025 fair, held in Dubai from May 13–15, Türksat signed a series of important international agreements and conducted strategic meetings.

First Export via Türksat 6A: Satellite Services Begin in South Asia

Providing satellite communications services across a vast geography—from Western Europe to India, from Central Asia to Southern Africa—Türksat achieved its first export via Türksat 6A at CABSAT 2025. Under the contract signed between Türksat A.Ş. and a Dubai-based company, Türksat began delivering commercial services directly through its Western and South Asian coverage areas for the first time.
As part of the agreement, countries including India, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia were added to Türksat 6A’s service area. Thus, Türksat satellites now have access to these regions for the first time. This first export realized through Türksat 6A—developed entirely with Turkish engineering—represents a critical milestone in integrating a nationally produced communications satellite into the international market. With this, Türksat’s satellite fleet can now reach more than 5 billion people—65% of the world’s population.

Memorandum of Understanding with Gulfsat for the MENA Market

Türksat A.Ş. also signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kuwait-based satellite communications company Gulfsat Communications. The MoU was signed during a ceremony held at the Türksat stand as part of CABSAT 2025. The agreement was signed by Türksat CEO Ahmet Hamdi Atalay and Gulfsat CEO Mustafa Murad, in the presence of Türksat Satellite Business Development and Sales Director Ömer Şamil Açba and Gulfsat Video Services Director Tamer Atef.

With this cooperation, Gulfsat’s current broadcasting and telecommunication services will be expanded to wider geographies through Türksat satellites. The agreement also aims to support technological and knowledge exchange and develop joint projects in areas such as broadcasting, OTT services, and data transmission. This partnership with Gulfsat, a company active in television broadcasting, data transmission, and internet services, is also expected to increase Türksat’s exports to the region.

Cooperation Protocol Between Türksat and Mada Communications

At the fair, Türksat A.Ş. also signed a significant cooperation protocol with global telecommunications solution provider Mada Communications International. Under the agreement, Mada Communications will receive broadband satellite internet services over Ka-band via the Türksat 5B satellite. The contract, signed by Türksat Deputy General Manager of Satellite Services Dr. Selman Demirel and Mada Communications General Manager Dominic Fahed, will enable one of the region’s most powerful communications satellites Türksat 5 to support underserved enterprises and critical mobile backhaul operations in Africa.

Türksat Hosts Many International Firms at CABSAT

Türksat A.Ş. hosted many international companies at CABSAT 2025. It also held strategic discussions with officials from Oman State Television (Oman TV) regarding broadcasting cooperation. During the meeting, the possibility of broadcasting Oman TV content via Türksat 5A and Türksat 4A satellites was evaluated in terms of technical and operational feasibility.
Discussions also included the broadcasting transition process, frequency planning, and infrastructure requirements. Türksat officials emphasized the satellites’ wide coverage area, high broadcast quality, and strong technical infrastructure—highlighting Türksat’s capability to deliver uninterrupted broadcasting services across a wide geography, particularly in the Middle East and Africa.
Türksat representatives also held meetings with the satellite operator Azercosmos from Azerbaijan. During these discussions at CABSAT 2025, new cooperation opportunities were explored, building upon the previously signed agreement covering commercial, technical, operational, and strategic collaboration areas.
