TÜRKSAT General Manager Hasan Hüseyin Ertok and ASELSAN Chairman and General Manager Prof. Dr. Haluk Gorgun have signed at the ceremony. The process of developing and putting into service domestic and national satellite equipment, which started in Türksat 5B with the Satellite Payload Equipment Development Cooperation Protocol, will continue in Türksat 6A and the next generation satellites to be put into service within Turksat
Türksat General Manager Ertok who made a speech at the ceremony explained that in addition to human resource training programs, stakeholders were interviewed for the first time to use domestic development equipment within the scope of the TÜRKSAT 5A and 5B project. Ertok explained that with the contract signed with ASELSAN in 2018, one Ku Band Receiver and one Ka band LNA equipment were produced and started to work on the TÜRKSAT 5B satellite, also stated that “These equipment has taken an important place in our satellite-space journey as the first space-qualified domestic equipment sent to GEO orbit and successfully operating. We want domestic and national equipment of ASELSAN to be present in our satellites that we will send into space in the next process, and we will provide this with this protocol. We will work with ASELSAN equipment on our satellites, which will be produced and sent to space later, especially Türksat 6A. On this occasion, I wish our cooperation to be beneficial, and I congratulate each and every one who contributed to this work.”
ASELSAN Chairman of the Board and General Manager Prof. Dr. Görgün, on the other hand, stated that ASELSAN attaches great importance to the said protocol and stated that, “I would like to thank the TÜRKSAT and ASELSAN teams separately. Because this protocol is the handicraft of our workmates and our colleagues. A project that contributes to our technological and economic independence. As ASELSAN, we carried our presence on land, sea and air into space with Türksat. We are at 36 thousand kilometers with our two units. It is very important for us to be in space with our domestic and national products. We will also take part in Türksat 6 A with our domestic and national equipment. I would like to thank TÜRKSAT for their support in this matter.”
After the protocol signing ceremony, ASELSAN Chairman and General Manager Prof. Dr. Görgün presented a model of domestic and national Ku Band Receiver and Ka band LNA equipment to TÜRKSAT General Manager Ertok, on the other hand Türksat General Manager Ertok presented a Türksat 5B model to ASELSAN Chairman and General Manager Prof. Dr. Görgün.
