Türksat, Turkish Airlines subsidiary TCI Aircraft Interiors (TCI), and AJET have conducted a signing ceremony for the "In-Flight Connectivity System" to provide broadband internet service on passenger aircraft. With the signed agreement, AJET passengers will now be able to access high-speed internet continuously through Türksat satellites.
A memorandum of understanding for the creation of the In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) system designed for the AJET fleet was signed at AIX 2024 (Aircraft Interiors Expo), one of the leading fairs of the aviation sector held in Hamburg, Germany. The protocol was signed at the ceremony attended by Türksat Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Kemal Yüksek, by Türksat General Manager Hasan Hüseyin Ertok, AJET General Manager Kerem Sarp, and TCI Aircraft Interiors General Manager Müjdat Uludağ.
The IFC system developed by Turkish Airlines subsidiary TCI was customized for AJET using Türksat broadband satellites and the certification capabilities of THY Technic Inc. This system will enrich AJET passengers' flight experience by meeting both the uninterrupted communication needs of the business world and digital expectations. The IFC system will provide high-speed internet connection through Türksat satellites, enabling passengers to conduct their business and access entertainment without interruption during flights. The system aims to elevate the service quality offered to AJET's passengers to a higher level and will initially be applied to 122 aircraft in the AJET fleet. With this project, AJET's communication needs for the next 10 years will be met through Türksat satellites, providing a competitive advantage. Türksat satellites will first be included in global service solutions offered to AJET and later to THY aircraft. This will allow the use of national satellite resources in the national airline company. Moreover, AJET will gain a competitive edge with internet services at higher speeds and without quotas, setting an example for other airline companies.
