A competition similar to the CanSat satellite model competition, which annually takes place in Texas and is organized by the American Astronautical Society (AAS) and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), was realized by Türksat for the first time.
At the Satellite Model Competition which took place amongst graduate and post graduate students and was held between September 2-4th, team “IQRASAT” composed of students from Yıldız Technical University won the competition.
At the end of the competition, which provided graduate and post graduate students of engineering departments an opportunity to apply their theoretic knowledge into a skill, members of the first placing team, IQRASAT received a gift card valued at 2,000 TL.
Türksat’s CEO, Cenk Şen and other senior executives, along with personnel attended the model competition.
After the competition had come to an end, a tour of the Lagari Hasan Çelebi Museum located at Türksat’s Main Campus in Gölbaşı was organized where questions regarding the conditions of space, satellite design and satellite operations were answered. All the participants were given a certificate showing their participation and a Türksat gift set.
At the satellite competition where the manufacturing process of satellite systems were closely imitated, is scheduled to take place annually.
