Through the cooperation of Türksat and IDC Turkey, a webinar titled “Effects of COVID-19 on the Public IT Sector” was organized over the internet. At the online event, which was attended by representatives from Turkey’s leading technology institutions, the effects the COVID-19 pandemic has had on e-Government services, national information strategy and cyber security were evaluated.

At the event, Türksat Corporate Information and Cyber Security Management Director Mehmet Ali Erkul stated that according to his assessment, the framework consisting of the orchestration, isolation and awareness of cyber security processes, has been redesigned along with the pandemic.

e-Government and Information Society Directorate Project Manager Fatih Çiçek, noted that compared to previous periods there has been a significant increase in usage of the e-Government Portal during the pandemic. He emphasized that due to an increase in user traffic in previous years, caused by certain services such as the inquiry of family lineage, the process was carried out smoothly thanks to investments made to the e-Government infrastructure at that time.

In addition, the webinar program was broadcasted live on Türksat's Information Channel, Kablo Info and Türksat’s YouTube channel.
