The Turkey COVID-19 Joint Mind Platform, which Türksat is a part of, was formed on the internet by bringing together 66 stakeholders from different cities across Turkey. It announced the support that would be offered to the top 20 initiatives and entrepreneurs amongst the 175 ideas that were sent in by entrepreneurs in the fight against COVID-19. Turkey COVID-19 Joint Mind Platform, lent its support to entrepreneurs with innovative solutions for short and long term problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, by providing online mentoring and training for them ripen their ideas and by establishing the necessary collaboration needed for the rapid realization of these ideas. Within this context, mentors consisting of 172 industry experts helped entrepreneurs during the two week mentoring phase. Also, in addition to basic entrepreneurship trainings that took place in those two weeks, participants were offered 18 trainings and webinars on the effects of COVID-19. On the platform which launched on 27 April 2020, 66 stakeholder institutions, 175 initiative ideas and 511 entrepreneurs along with 172 mentors worked intensively for three weeks by putting their minds together. 42 initiatives that made it to the jury presentation stage, later made “online” presentations to a jury consisting of 34 members on May 12-13. During the live broadcast that took place on 15 May 2020, platform coordinators Dr. Bülent Gümüş and Dr. Ahmet Çubukçu after giving information about the “online” initiative acceleration program which was realized as a social responsibility project, announced the best 20 initiatives determined according to jury evaluations and publicly noted the support that the stakeholders will provide to the entrepreneurs. The 20 best initiatives were offered invitation to the “Meet with Investors” event.
