TÜRKSAT A.Ş.'s more than 30 years of experience in satellite operations with the transfer process of 573 television and 215 radio channels on our Türksat 3A satellite to our high-capacity new-generation satellites was carried out flawlessly.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Uraloğlu said, "Nearly 1,000 frequency transitions in space were managed simultaneously. We are raising our broadcasting standards to the highest level and offering a stronger and higher-quality broadcasting service to our citizens. Transferring 573 TV and 215 radio channels means locking nearly 1,000 frequencies and broadcast parameters onto their new addresses simultaneously within seconds." Stating that the operation of transferring the broadcasts of television and radio channels receiving service from Türksat via the 3A satellite to other high-capacity Türksat satellites was carried out seamlessly and successfully, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu used the expressions; "Nearly 1,000 frequency transitions in space were managed simultaneously. We are raising our broadcasting standards to the highest level and offering a stronger and higher-quality broadcasting service to our citizens."

In his written statement, Minister Uraloğlu drew attention to the fact that the operation of transferring television and radio broadcasts on Türksat 3A, which has been in service since 2008, to high-capacity satellites in the Türksat satellite fleet was carried out seamlessly and successfully, reporting that because Türksat 3A, which has been in operation for 18 years, completed its technological lifespan, the broadcasts of media organizations were moved to new-generation satellites on the night connecting August 15 to August 16.

Emphasizing that this massive operation, in which hundreds of frequencies changed places simultaneously and which required very high engineering precision, was completed flawlessly without any interruption reflected on screens, Uraloğlu noted that television and radio channels will now broadcast with higher quality and higher technology via new-generation satellites.

"573 TV and 215 radio channels successfully moved to new-generation satellites"

Pointing out that technical preparations continuing for 1 month in coordination with television and radio channels were concluded so that the transition process could be overcome smoothly for both broadcasting organizations and citizens, Uraloğlu used the following expressions: "Our Türksat 3A satellite shouldered the burden of our broadcasting sector for 18 years. In line with developing technology, new global standards reached in broadcasting, and our increasing capacity needs, we transferred the broadcasts of our media organizations to the more powerful satellites of our fleet. 573 TV and 215 radio channels were successfully moved to new-generation satellites. Easier said than done, transferring 573 television and 215 radio channels means locking nearly 1,000 frequencies and broadcast parameters in space onto their new addresses simultaneously within seconds. Nearly 1,000 frequency transitions in space were managed simultaneously. We are raising our broadcasting standards to the highest level and offering a stronger and higher-quality broadcasting service to our citizens. Thanks to the superior capability and meticulous work of our Türksat engineers, we successfully completed such a massive frequency transfer operation requiring zero error without experiencing any disruption. Türkiye's broadcasting infrastructure in space is now much stronger."

Underlining that the satellites to which the broadcasts were transferred are located in the same orbital position as Türksat 3A, Uraloğlu made the evaluation: "Our greatest priority was that our citizens' television viewing pleasure would not be affected in the slightest way by this process. Because our new-generation satellites to which the broadcast transfer was made are located at the same orbital angle in space, our viewers will be able to continue watching broadcasts simply with higher image quality without changing their existing satellite dishes and antenna angles in any way. We are proud to have flawlessly completed this technological transition across millions of households without causing any technical inconvenience to our citizens."

"We are one of the 11 countries producing communication satellites"

Stating that millions of users reached up-to-date broadcasts without taking any action thanks to the Türksat Channel Update System (TKGS) featured in new-generation televisions and satellite receivers, Uraloğlu used the expressions: "Thanks to the TKGS developed by our Türksat engineers, the list of TV and radio channels was updated automatically. Our citizens using older-model satellite receivers without TKGS support can easily perform a 'network scan' on their devices to access their broadcasts over the new frequencies."
